Karoo Hoogland Municipality is a category B local municipality situated in the southern part of the Northern Cape province, South Africa.
The internship provides hands-on exposure in a Municipal Budget and Treasury Office environment and is aligned with the Municipal Finance Management Act (MFMA) and related competency regulations.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- A three-year Bachelor’s Degree or National Diploma with majors in at least one of the following:
- Accounting
- Economics
- Finance
- Risk Management
- Auditing
- Be between 21 and 35 years of age
Applicants with an N6 Certificate in Accounting, Economics, Finance, Risk Management and/or Auditing who still need to complete their WIL programme are also encouraged to apply.
About the Internship Programme
The Municipal Finance Management Internship Programme (MFMP) is a structured professional training initiative aimed at:
- Developing practical financial management skills
- Providing exposure to municipal finance systems and legislation
- Preparing interns for qualification in Municipal Finance Management
On completion, interns will meet competency requirements in line with Municipal Regulations on Minimum Competency Levels (Gazette 29967 of 15 June 2007).
