Sasria SOC Ltd (South African Special Risk Insurance Association) is the only non-life insurer in South Africa that provides specialized coverage for "extraordinary" risks. It is a state-owned enterprise (SOE) reporting to the National Treasury.
This 12-month learnership provides practical training in short-term insurance claims processing. Learners will be trained to:
- Process and validate insurance claims
- Assess liability
- Negotiate claim settlements
- Ensure regulatory compliance
- Deliver excellent customer service
- Maintain cost control within policy guidelines
The programme combines structured learning with hands-on workplace experience.
Minimum Requirements
- Matric (Grade 12)
- No previous work experience required
Preference will be given to applicants living with disabilities in line with Employment Equity objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Claims Administration
- Register and capture new claims
- Load and authorise claim payments
- Validate claim documentation
- Adjust claims according to policy cover
- Update claim reserves
- Maintain accurate system notes
- Escalate complex claims to supervisors
Broker & Stakeholder Liaison
- Communicate with brokers and agents
- Negotiate settlements
- Provide regular claim progress updates
Additional Duties
- Perform ad hoc tasks as required by management
