Available Internship Fields

The programme focuses on scarce and critical skills aligned to professional council registration.

Construction Project Management (x1)

Qualification Required: BSc Construction Management Studies (Honours or Masters)

Interns will gain exposure to:

  • Infrastructure project coordination
  • Construction lifecycle planning
  • Budget and timeline management
  • Compliance monitoring
  • Public infrastructure delivery frameworks

This pathway supports future registration with SACPCMP.

Natural Science (x1)

Qualification Required: BSc Natural Science (Honours or Masters)

Focus areas include:

  • Environmental monitoring
  • Water quality science
  • Sustainability assessments
  • Scientific data analysis
  • Resource management

This stream aligns with SACNASP professional registration.

Geographic Information Systems (GIS) (x1)

Qualifications Accepted:

  • BSc Geomatics
  • BSc Geo-Informatics
  • Honours/Masters in Geo-Informatics

Interns will work with:

  • Spatial data analysis
  • Infrastructure mapping
  • Asset management systems
  • Environmental modelling
  • Smart municipal planning tools

GIS professionals are critical in modern infrastructure and water resource planning.

Town and Regional Planning (x1)

Qualification Required: BSc Town and Regional Planning (Honours)

This pathway supports progression toward SACPLAN registration.

Civil Engineering (x2)

Mechanical Engineering (x2)

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Relevant accredited university qualification (Honours/Masters where specified)
  • Must be unemployed
  • South African citizen with valid SA ID
  • Under the age of 35
  • Academic record aligned with professional council standards
  • Willingness to undergo assessments and verification processes

Added Advantage:

  • Valid Code 08 driver’s licence
  • Candidate registration with statutory councils
