This internship programme is designed to provide practical workplace experience, technical exposure, and skills development in laboratory operations, fieldwork, and quality control.

The internship aims to equip participants with hands-on experience in laboratory and field operations, improving their employability in industries such as mining, manufacturing, agriculture, and energy.

Internship Responsibilities

Participants in the SGS YES Internship Programme will:

• Assist with fieldwork and laboratory tasks, including sampling and testing
• Perform calculations and apply test methods accurately
• Clean the site or workshop after completing tasks
• Ensure work areas are free from consumables and materials used during tasks
• Follow all quality and safety requirements of the SGS management system
• Report irregularities, deviations, and non-conformance issues
• Perform tasks assigned by supervisors or laboratory managers

Interns will also gain experience in operational procedures, safety standards, and quality assurance processes.

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

• Grade 12 (Mathematics and Science required)
• Proficiency in English
• Must be a South African citizen with a valid ID
• Must be between 18 and 33 years old
• Must be currently unemployed
• Must not have participated in a YES programme before
• Must have no criminal record
• Must be willing to relocate to Barberton or Randfontein
