City Power City Power Johannesburg is the municipal-owned electricity utility for the City of Johannesburg, South Africa. It is responsible for purchasing bulk power from generators like Eskom and distributing it to over 3.2 million people in the Greater Johannesburg area.
The Infrastructure Skills Development Grant (ISDG) Graduate Programme is a structured 3-year professional development initiative designed to support young engineering graduates on their journey toward professional registration. The programme is fully funded by the National Treasury and aims to strengthen infrastructure capacity within the municipal environment.

Minimum Qualification
Applicants must have:
- BSc/BEng (NQF Level 7) in Electrical Engineering
The academic qualification must align with the requirements for professional registration with the relevant statutory council.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must:
- Be suitably qualified and unemployed
- Be South African citizens with a valid SA ID
- Be under the age of 35
- Meet academic requirements for professional registration
- Have no prior formal employment in the relevant field
A valid Code 08 driver’s licence will be an added advantage.
Appointments will be made in accordance with the Employment Equity Act.
