The Takealot Group Internship Programme gives selected interns the opportunity to learn from experienced professionals while gaining daily exposure to real work in the e-commerce sector.

Interns will receive training in a variety of technical and soft skill areas, helping them prepare for long-term careers in a large-scale and high-growth environment.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must have:

  • An N6 certificate in Marketing, Media, Communications, or a related field
  • A portfolio or link to a digital folder such as Canva or Google Drive showing previous social media content or creative work

Skills Required

The ideal candidate should have:

  • Strong analytical ability and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Good knowledge of Google Sheets, including vlookups, pivots, and data validation
  • Good knowledge of Google Workspace
  • Effective time management and organisational skills
  • Ability to work proactively and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong understanding of design principles
  • Good knowledge of social media platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and TikTok

Key Responsibilities

Successful candidates will be expected to:

  • Assist in the daily execution of the Personal Shopper Program’s social media strategy
  • Help with scheduling, posting, and community engagement
  • Produce visual content such as static images, GIFs, and short-form videos using tools like Canva or Photoshop
  • Support marketing campaigns for internal stakeholders and external partners
  • Translate programme updates and benefits into engaging social content
  • Ensure all content aligns with Takealot Group brand guidelines while keeping the unique voice of the Personal Shopper Program
